The Ernest Sports ESB2 is our most portable launch monitor. It measures your ball speed and club speed with Doppler radar and sends your numbers to the free ES Range app on your phone or tablet — it has no built-in screen. Carry, smash factor, launch angle and spin are calculated from your measured speeds and the club you select, so you get the full picture of every shot on the range or clamped to a cart. Twenty-hour battery, palm-size, and built in the USA.
What's included
ESB2 launch monitor, tripod, charger, and travel bag.
Data captured
Measured directly — ball speed and club speed. Calculated from those and the club you select — smash factor, carry, total distance, launch angle, spin, apex and descent angle.

Questions
ESB2, answered
Marked up with FAQPage schema so these answers can surface directly in search results and AI responses.
How is the ESB2 different from the ESB1?
They measure the same way — ball speed and club speed by Doppler radar. The ESB1 has a built-in screen and works with no phone; the ESB2 is smaller and cart-mountable and shows your numbers in the free ES Range app on your phone or tablet.
Does the ESB2 need a phone?
Yes. The ESB2 pairs with the free ES Range app on your phone or tablet to show your numbers — it has no built-in screen. If you want a screen with no phone, that is the ESB1.
Is the ESB2 a club-fitting device?
No. The ESB2 is built for practice, distance gapping and speed training. It measures ball and club speed directly and estimates the rest of your ball flight from those numbers; for club fitting you want a unit that optically measures spin and face angle.
Can I use the ESB2 indoors?
Yes. The ESB2 uses Doppler radar, so it works indoors into a net or screen as well as outdoors on the range — just give the ball a few feet of clear flight in front of the unit.

Most Golf AI Is Guessing. Ours Is Measuring.
Most AI golf apps guess at ball flight. ES Range’s AI analysis reads measured shots from your Ernest Sports launch monitor and tells you what to work on next.
